Our mission is to foster better public health and quality of life for Northampton’s residents and visitors by enhancing the trail network and conducting activities that sustain and grow the community of trail users.
A little bit about FNT . . .
Founded in 2006, the Friends of Northampton Trails consists of nine directors from Northampton and the surrounding Pioneer Valley. Through enhancing the regional trail and greenway networks and conducting activities, we improve the quality and safety of these public spaces, increase recreational access, and enhance air and water quality, and grow the community of trail users.
We work in cooperation with local governance, chambers of commerce, and similar organizations to create community building events and identify grants to fund these endeavors; provide assistance to maintain infrastructure and envision expanded access to sustainable transportation in our region.
We work in tandem with other community organizations to plan events such as annual trail clean-up days, trail planting parties, annual “tweed rides,” and Bike Week activities. Join us for ribbon-cutting ceremonies to welcome new trail spurs and art along the trail. Join our community by becoming a member, which functions as a donation to support our mission.
