The Tiny Gallery project is a series of 5, small-scale, stand-alone, interactive popup art galleries located at different locations along the Northampton bike path. The Tiny Gallery is modeled after the Little Free Library movement.
Each gallery will host one artist, solo or group exhibition, installation, residency or collaboration for a set period of 2- 4 months. The mission of the Tiny Gallery Project is to create new opportunities for anyone identifying as an artist or maker to show their work in a public context that engages with new communities outside of a traditional art context.
This project is a free and accessible, public art project that will provide a thought provoking art experience to anyone that passes by and engages with the galleries. This project brings art directly to the community as they go about their daily walk or bike ride, and has the potential to connect with viewers that might not go to galleries or museums.
The Tiny Gallery project was conceived and initiated by Kim Carlino with support from Mass Cultural Council, The Northampton Arts Council and FNT.
